Caffeine can really make it harder for you to fall asleep or stay asleep. Finally make sure that you are full but not stuffed as being overly full or being hungry can also affect how you sleep.

Having a ritual thing that you do each night before bed will teach your body to start relaxing and preparing for sleep at that time. This can be a shower or a time spent reading or even journaling that is always done right before going to bed for the night.
