2014 was a whirlwind year and one that I hope to never repeat. I had a lot of personal struggles and demons that I had to battle. I ended up really having a hard time with being the positive and happy me that I should be. Instead I struggled with arguing with family and friends, ruining relationships, and all around acting like a person that I did not know and one that I am not proud to have become.
Since 2014 was a year with so many positives it was hard to realize that my negative aspect of things was more personal and had a lot to do with my own attitude more so than it had to do with the things that were actually happening in the world around me. So for 2015 my goal is simply to be a better me. I still want to have all of my own quirkiness but I want to be a much better version of myself and one that I can be more proud of. I thought that I would share with you the ways in which I hope to be a better me in 2015.
Life Goals and Aspirations
**Contentment — I want to find contentment and be happier with the things that I have rather than focusing on the many things that I do not have.
**Thankful — I am so blessed in my life with four beautiful and healthy children and an amazing husband. In 2015 I want to focus on these things and how I should be thankful for them rather than thinking about the things that I wish that I had. I heard something recently that has really stuck with me and made me change my perspective. Someone said…if all you had tomorrow when you woke up was what you thanked God for today, what would you have? So I am living life where I share that I am thankful for the many blessings in my life each and every day.
**Work — I freelance for a living and my goal for 2015 is to have steady employment and steady income so that I can be more of a support in my family.
**The Blog — I am hoping to be able to write more content focused pieces along with bringing some great series in the new year. I have some guest bloggers lined up who are more experts in their fields than myself. This should help me to come up with some great things to blog about. I also hope to review some amazing products and share the companies with you so that you might learn something new.
**Long Term Aspirations — I want to be published more…hopefully with a poetry book and maybe to collaborate on some songs as a lyricist (which happens to be my DREAM job).
**To Be More Patient — By nature I am not a patient person at all. I want to be more patient, loving, understanding and kind with everyone in my life.
**To Be Present — Instead of just being in a room I want to be more present in the world around me. I want to play games and laugh more, read more stories, and really enjoy my family more than I have in the past.
**To Be a Better Friend — I tend to run away and hide rather than enjoying the people in my life. This year I want to spend more time with friends and to really work on being a better friend to them all.
**To work out on a regular and consistent basis.
**To reach my goal size (I don’t have a goal weight but I do have a goal pair of jeans that I want to wear!).
So here is to a better, more positive, more fit, healthier version of me that I am going to work hard to find in 2015.
