Everyone knows that a good home cooked meal can make you feel something. It is actually possible for you to bring back a special memory from childhood when you are eating something that you ate with your family. I cook a lot at our house with hopes that my children will be able to conjure up amazing childhood memories when they are eating delicious meals.
Recently I was approached about checking out the Chicken Soup for the Soul line of food products. There many delicious items that they have available and I have been testing the foods out so that I would be able to create amazing new recipes with them.
A Recipe Made with Chicken Soup for the Soul Thai Style Chicken Broth
Spicy Thai Style Mushroom Shrimp Soup
1 box (32 oz) Chicken Soup for the Soul Thai Style Chicken Broth
2 jalapeno peppers, sliced thin
1 bunch of green onions, chopped
½ package (8 oz package) of white mushrooms, quartered
½ package (8 oz package) of baby ‘bella mushrooms, quartered
8 oz of cooked shrimp, tails removed
1. Put chicken broth in a pan. Add in the sliced onions, mushrooms, and green onions. Turn the stove on medium-low. Let simmer until the liquids are cooked out of the mushrooms.
2. Add the shrimp to the pan. Simmer for 10 minutes.
When I served this soup I added the Chicken Soup for the Soul Soup Toppers Zesty Tortilla Strips and Red Pepper Crisps to the top for some crunch and texture. The best thing about this recipe is that it was super simple, delicious, and took very little time to make.
This broth had complex well developed flavors for a box of broth.
A Look at Chicken Soup for the Soul Three Cheese Pasta Sauce
We love pasta at our house. I will admit that during my diets this is the hardest thing to be able to do. I struggle continuously. Pasta is one of the things that I struggle with. This sauce was delicious. I am proud to say that there were some different things that I did with this sauce.
I made spaghetti noodles and put the Chicken Soup for the Soul Three Cheese Pasta Sauce on top of this.
For my husband I used the sauce with penne noodles and quartered marinated mozzarella balls. He told me that it was delicious and something that he really enjoyed. He actually asked if I could make this again sometime too.
